RatePoint and VeriSign Develop SafeSender Email Marketing Program

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Customer reviews, testimonials and online reputation management services provider RatePoint (www.ratepoint.com) has announced a new program enabling its customers to use the recognizable VeriSign Trust Seal to build end-user confidence and credibility.
The result of a new alliance with Internet infrastructure services provider VeriSign (www.verisign.com), according to RatePoint’s Thursday announcement, RatePoint’s “SafeSender” email marketing program lets customers increase their click-though rate and revenue by adding the VeriSign Trust Seal to customer communications.
The VeriSign Trust Seal shows that VeriSign has confirmed the site’s identity and that it has passed the VeriSign malware scan. With the biggest companies in the world securing their websites with VeriSign SSL certificates, the VeriSign Trust Seal helps to inspire confidence and online loyalty in site visitors - not only for e-commerce sites - but for all websites. It can appear in email materials, website subscription signup tools, and social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. By using the VeriSign Trust Seal, RatePoint customers can leverage the globally recognized VeriSign brand.

“Adding the VeriSign Trust Seal to emails and review profile pages can improve the trust between business and consumer, ultimately leading to a more profitable relationship,” RatePoint global sales co-founder and vice president Tom Serani said in a statement. “This provides yet another trust-building tool to RatePoint's SMB customers - one that allows them to extract even greater value from the proven solutions we already provide today.”
In a pilot program, five RatePoint customers that deployed the VeriSign Trust Seal option in email campaigns and on their review profile pages found that the presence of the VeriSign Trust Seal contributed to an increase in visits to the customers' sites.
“We saw immediate and clear consumer response to the VeriSign Trust Seal within our emails,” stated Scott Hughes, chief executive officer of online fish shop Saltwaterfish.com (www.saltwaterfish.com). “The VeriSign Trust Seal offers instant and welcome reassurance to consumers increasingly worried about the high price of clicking on the wrong link. This new offering from RatePoint and VeriSign gives our customer campaigns - and our business - a measurable competitive edge.”
SafeSender lets RatePoint customers include a highly recognized trust symbol in their email campaigns, which could significantly improve email list sign-ups, increase open rates and bolster overall trust.
“With this new offering, RatePoint customers can stand behind the combined strengths of VeriSign and RatePoint to boost their business trust with consumers,” VeriSign SSL vice president and general manager Michael Lin said in a statement. “Businesses displaying the VeriSign Trust Seal will be recognized as organizations willing to stand up to the scrutiny of independent verification and daily malware scans. In today's threatening online environment, that kind of reassurance turns browsers into buyers.”
